Caring for Your Cranial Prosthesis

Treat your unit like fine fabric. Detangle gently from the ends up using a wide-tooth comb or a loop brush. Wash every 10–14 wears (or sooner if you wear it daily) with sulfate-free shampoo and lukewarm — never hot — water. Always air-dry on a stand and store away from direct sunlight when not in use. Avoid sleeping in your unit when possible. A silk or satin pillowcase reduces friction and tangling for the nights you do.
